Pedro Manuel Moreno-Marcos, from Gradient-UC3M, carried out a research stay at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) from June to September 2019. He conducted research within the Computer Science and Engineering Department, under the supervision of Prof. Ting-Chuen Pong, whose research interests are around artificial intelligence, computer vision, e-learning, image processing, and multimedia computing.
In the stay, he conducted research on prediction of grades in a MOOC about Java programming from HKUST. Particularly, the results contribute to work package 2 and 3 of the SmartLET project. One publication related to this research visit is the following: “Analysis of the Factors Influencing Learners’ Performance Prediction With Learning Analytics” (IEEE Access).
